Rules
The rules of Build Before Q-Day: The QoreChain Developer Fest. Draft, pending final review.
The rules, prizes and dates are not final and may still change until the end of the event. Every change is announced on this site.
Organiser
The Developer Fest is organised by the QoreChain Association. These rules apply to every participant and every project.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older. Each person registers with one GitHub account, and every team member registers individually.
Registration is complete when your GitHub account, your X account and your QoreX testnet address are all connected.
Timeline
Building runs from 4 November 2026 to the submission deadline on 2 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Checks run from 3 to 5 December, judging from 6 to 15 December, and winners are announced at the live demo show on 16 December. All times are UTC.
Projects
You may build more than one project. Each project has one category: Quantum Pass, Intermediate, Advanced A (AI agents), Advanced B (encryption), Advanced C (cross-VM) or Expert.
Each project needs a public GitHub repository, a README, a featured image, a video of up to 3 minutes, and the QoreChain testnet address or addresses it uses.
Original work
Projects are built during the event. Open source libraries, the QoreChain kits and templates may be used and must be credited in the README. Copied projects are disqualified.
Submission
Submissions close on 2 December 2026 at 23:59 UTC. After the deadline projects are read only, except for changes the jury requests from finalists.
Judging
After automatic and manual checks, a jury scores each project against the rubric for its category. Finalists may receive a change request with 48 hours to answer.
People's Choice
The People's Choice award is decided by a community vote with QoreX on mainnet from 6 to 15 December. Each eligible wallet has 3 votes, at most 1 per project. Team members cannot vote for their own project. Counts stay hidden until 16 December, and the full list of votes is published after the vote.
Prizes and grants
Prizes total $20,000 and are paid in stablecoin to winners from 17 to 22 December. Follow-on grants are paid in QOR against milestones, from January 2027.
Conduct
Be respectful in every channel. Spam, harassment, vote manipulation, multiple accounts for one person and copied work lead to removal of the project or the account.
Changes
The organiser may update these rules. Changes are announced on this site.
